a subscriber agreement is an agreement between a subscriber and mausign ca stating that the subscriber will use the digital certificate for the assigned use or x-x-objective and that the subscriber is solely responsible for the protection of the private key and ensuring the functionality of the unique key pair. the subscriber also agrees through the subscriber agreement that all the information provided to mausign ca at the time of registration is accurate.

A Certificate Authority (CA ), also sometimes referred to as a Certification Authority, is a company or organization that acts to validate the identities of entities (such as websites, email addresses, companies, or individual persons ) and bind them to cryptographic keys through the issuance of digital certificates.

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Mauritius (ICTA ) is the Controller of Certification Authorities (CCA ) and is, therefore, the “Root” Authority and is at the apex of the National Public Key Infrastructure (PKI ) of Mauritius.

The Registration Authority (RA ) is an agent of the Certification Authority that receives application for the Digital Signature Certificates, verifies the information submitted and approves or rejects the application on the basis of the results of the verification process.

Information and Communication Technologies Authority of Mauritius (ICTA ) is the CCA that signs the public key of the Certification Authority and issues licences to Certification Authorities or recognises Certification Authorities operating in Mauritius.

Certificate Policies describe details of different types of certificates issued by a Certificate Authority. These details include procedures involved in the issuance and revocation of digital certificates and terms of usage of certificates.

A Certification Practice Statement is a statement of practice or a code of conduct, employed by a licensed Certificate Authority in issuing and managing digital certificates. A CPS provides details of the management system and practices employed by a Certificate Authority in its operations.

non-repudiation is the assurance that someone cannot deny the validity of something. it refers to the ability to ensure that a party to a contract or a communication cannot deny the authenticity of their signature on a x-document or the sending of a message that they originated.

An application number is a unique number generated for each application for a digital certificate. 
[Others] What is Authorisation / Reference codes? 
The authorisation / reference codes are sent to the user by email after the Registration Authority has approved his/her application. The applicant will use the authorisation / reference codes to issue and download the certificate.
